The Wooden Bat Classic was born from a simple passion: to bring together adult baseball players who love the game and want to compete at a high level while enjoying the camaraderie that only baseball can provide.
Founded in 1996 by Bob Wagner, a lifelong baseball enthusiast, the tournament started as a small gathering of local teams and has grown into one of the most respected adult baseball tournaments in the country. What began with just 8 teams in its inaugural year now welcomes over 100 teams annually, with players traveling from across the nation to participate.
Bob's vision was to create an event that honored the purity of baseball - wooden bats, real competition, and the joy of playing America's pastime under the Florida sun. His commitment to quality, sportsmanship, and the player experience has been the foundation of the tournament's success.
For over 30 years, the Wooden Bat Classic has been more than just a tournament - it's a reunion of baseball lovers, a celebration of the game's timeless appeal, and a testament to the enduring power of sports to bring people together.
